Remember when Trump was first president and the media couldn’t figure out how to treat his tweets?
Back in 2017, the new president’s Twitter feed was the newswire. Firing the FBI director? New North Korea policy? Announcing a ban on transgender troops? It all dropped in 280 characters or less.
The White House, realizing that “random tweet” and “official U.S. policy” were now the same thing, started quietly posting some of those messages as formal statements on WhiteHouse.gov. The page where past presidents announced treaties or signed bills now just had Trump’s tweets looking all formal.
It was the ultimate merging of modern chaos with old-school gravitas: a presidential decree, complete with letterhead … born from a thumbs-on-phone impulse at 6:12 a.m.
Feel like someone should do the same thing for the Dark Blue Dog tweets, like these two today:

Listening to bar room discussions among apolitical types a year ago comparing Biden and Weekend at Bernie's provided me a snapshot of everything that transpired in 2025.
