Delegates Are Democracy - 5pm Zoom
President Biden withdrawing - Join information session on the role of DNC delegates in the presidential nominating process
Please join Delegates Are Democracy via Zoom for an informational session at 5:00pm ET this afternoon. You can register here.
On Friday morning, more than 200 Democratic National Convention delegates and party activists joined a conversation with DNC member and presidential nominating expert Elaine Kamarck.
Here’s what the Washington Post said about the Delegates Are Democracy conversation:
Delegates Are Democracy, another newly formed group, held a Zoom for delegates to the Democratic National Convention to inform them how an open primary would work if Biden were to step aside.
Elaine Kamarck, an expert on presidential nominations and a member of the Democratic National Committee, told the gathered delegates that if Biden were to bow out of the race, the road to an open convention could be fast-moving and “fascinating.”
“Basically, think of it as a redo of the primary system in a very, very, very compressed period of time,” she said.
You can also find coverage of the event in CBS, ABC, Politico, and elsewhere - and you can watch the recording at DelegatesAreDemocracy.com.
Given today’s announcement from President Biden, this conversation could not be more timely. You can register here.
