RE: Presidential Polling Toplines from July 8-14
Summary
As part of previously scheduled ongoing research, a large amount of survey data was collected both before and after the attempted assassination of former President Trump in Pennsylvania.
Responses included questions on the presidential horse race, and showed an increase in favorability for both Trump and Biden of around 3% and an increase in Trump’s lead over President Joe Biden in the presidential head to head by around a quarter of that amount (0.7%).
Methodology: We surveyed 7,042 likely voters from July 8-14. Interviews were conducted via web panel using the Lucid marketplace. The survey was weighted to be representative of likely voters by age, race, education, gender, and vote history, and filtered for respondent attentiveness. Results are broken out by before (4,616) and after (2,426) the attempted assassination in Pennsylvania at 6:15pm EST on July 13th. Responses received between 6:15pm EST and 9:00pm EST were not included. The breakdown of responses by day is as follows:
2549 respondents on July 8
141 respondents on July 9
81 respondents on July 11
1489 respondents on July 12
356 respondents on July 13 before 6:15pm EST
1393 respondents on July 13 after 9:00pm EST
1033 respondents on July 14
