Who knows why the summations on either side are wrong. Sloppy work.
But on net, AOC’s +48 and Democrats in Congress are +40. That’s usually how we report approval rating.
And I think it’s relevant when looking at those who didn’t vote that AOC has high “very favorables” and only 4% who view her “very unfavorably”.
As for considering going after Golden. Activists on the Left needs to spend more time persuading the public that its ideas and principles are right instead of attacking Democrats that sometimes disagrees with them. Going after Golden is a big risk for little gain. And the Maine Democratic Party should not be encouraging a challenge. (Although I think sometimes a primary helps candidates and I’m not opposed to them.)
I find what I consider a good fight between the Left and the Center depressing.
To me both sides are blaming the other on pretty flimsy grounds and that makes it harder to have honest conversations about weakness and mistakes as well as recognize important shared values.
It also increases the focus on the Presidency. Democrats are already too focused on the Presidency in relation to Congress and especially in relation to state legislatures and governors. That’s part of why we are in the situation we are in.
It seems obvious to me that the Party needs to focus on rural communities with outreach, seed money for new candidates, events by elected leaders, and without assumptions on what will work in these communities because we mostly don’t know. We have to stop just relying on juicing turnout in cities, suburbs, and college towns to win statewide elections.

Definitely relevant that AOC is popular among people who vote for Democrats! But they shouldn’t make such a causal claim off that data
And agree re Maine Dems
Fair enough.
