I fully believe we should call out the republicans when they act corrupt or authoritarian but there is a large difference between that and just this mud slinging like we’re 5 yr olds. I’m pretty left but I’m registered as independent bc the trying to go viral is just so exhausting and stupid. I’m much more interested in voting for someone who would rather do the boring work of putting together proposed legislation than the “ influencer” just trying to get clicks.

It always baffles me why people not on the hard right want to play these games with people who have so many heavily armed fans.

But seriously, I can think of no better way to draw distinctions that to *not* play stupid games.

excellent. "these political hobbyists spend more time sharing and re-sharing partisan hot takes than they do volunteering or engaging in real life" = perfect.

Good piece. What is the motivation from those on the furthest left? Part of the DNA of the furthest right is to be a bully (and they the right is better at it than someone like Liz Warren). And a Republican distinguishing themselves in this manner gets them future plum gigs (Devin Nunes for one). But on the left the motivation is less clear beyond celebration among their cult following. Likely helps with fundraising. But probably doesn't lead to riches after politics as it does on the right. Does it elevate a House member into contention for a future Senate seat (see Pressley, Ayanna)?

Excellent article & so true! Link2Tek will emerge as a nonpartisan political mass communications SaaS in 2025, as we’re supporters of moderate, common-sense Candidates regardless of party affiliation.
